Game Night at Bench Warmers Decatur Every Wednesday!
THIS WEDNESDAY ONLY:
Guest speaker Heather Feinstein, a tournament player and Mahjong instructor, will teach us a new way to score our Mahjong Open Play Sessions. She will introduce a three-step scoring process (instead of just using the value on the card), making our events more engaging and creating different winning categories.
Our mini tournament, originally scheduled for November 16th, has been canceled. Many members (and your Leadership Team) value the social aspect, friendly competition, and celebration of awards and prizes even more! As a result, we will hold these fun, friendly competitions three or four times a year instead.
Heather also teaches two-player Siamese Mahjong, which will give us more options for managing overflow and rotations.
The fee for this event is $10, not the usual $5.
Mainly Mahjong, but we welcome Cribbage, Cards, Chess, and More! Bench Warmers will offer reduced-price appetizers and specials, plus $5 beverage deals: half-price wine, reduced-cost premium beers, and Lemon Drop Shooters!
Connect with members of the community in Decatur while enjoying games that blend strategy, skill, and a bit of luck. Mahjong is a great way to socialize, relax, and challenge your mind. No lessons or Supervised Beginner Play at this event — just Open Play with players of similar skill levels and a lot of fun! Not up for Mahjong? Don’t worry! We’ll have a few tables set up for other games.

Official Mahjong Cards
If you do not yet a 2026 Official Mah Jongg Card, you can purchase one from the National Mah Jongg League. Large Type cards (recommended) are $15 each, regular cards are $14. Beware of bootleg cards available a Amazon or Walmart — they are not approved by (and do not support) the League. Wondering about the importance of having a 2026 Official Mah Jongg Card?
